COUNSELLING & SUPERVISION

Support for relationships, trauma and personal change.

Counselling can look different depending on what is happening in your life, your relationships and what you want to change. I work with individuals and couples, provide trauma-informed counselling and EMDR, and offer professional supervision for practitioners.

COUPLES COUNSELLING

Understand the patterns affecting your relationship.

Couples counselling can help when communication has become difficult, conflict keeps repeating, resentment has built or you are feeling increasingly disconnected from one another.

Rather than focusing only on the latest disagreement, we can look at the patterns underneath it. This may include how each of you responds during conflict, what happens when one person pursues and the other withdraws, unresolved hurt, expectations, boundaries and the ways you attempt to protect yourselves when the relationship feels uncertain.

The aim is to develop a clearer understanding of what is happening between you and identify realistic changes that can support healthier communication, greater clarity and a more sustainable way of relating.

Common areas we may work on:
Communication difficulties Recurring conflict Disconnection Resentment Trust and repair Relationship uncertainty

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

Make sense of what is happening and what you need.

You do not need to arrive at counselling with a perfectly defined problem or a clear idea of what needs to change.

You may be experiencing emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, significant change, uncertainty or a sense that familiar patterns are no longer working for you.

Counselling provides space to understand what is happening, recognise patterns in how you think, feel and respond, and explore experiences that may be influencing you now. From there, we can identify what you want to approach differently and work toward changes that feel realistic and meaningful.

Individual counselling may include support with:
Emotional overwhelm Relationship patterns Life transitions Boundaries Feeling stuck or uncertain Self-understanding and change

TRAUMA & EMDR

Process experiences that continue to affect you now.

Difficult experiences can continue to influence how we feel, respond, relate and function long after the experience itself has passed.

Trauma-informed counselling focuses on understanding these responses within the context of what you have experienced rather than treating them as something that is simply wrong with you.

Where appropriate, EMDR can also be used to support the processing of distressing experiences and memories. The work is paced carefully and collaboratively, with attention to preparation, safety and your individual needs.

Trauma and EMDR work may include:
Difficult or distressing experiences Trauma responses Triggers and emotional reactions Unhelpful beliefs Relationship impacts EMDR processing
